On the 2nd of July, the Foilco team will embark on a journey to Snowdonia National Park to take on the challenge of climbing the 2nd highest peak in the UK. So far, a group of 13 from the Foilco family have signed up to tackle Snowden and brave not only the mountain but the unpredictable British weather as well.
This might be a daunting task for our team, but it pales in comparison to the obstacles families face when living with cancer. Especially when it is their child going through that battle. Therefore, we are thrilled to be dedicating this walk to raising money for The Joshua Tree.
The Joshua Tree is a Charity based in Northwest England and works predominantly with families whose lives are affected by a child suffering from cancer. The exceptional work by the team at The Joshua Tree offers a unique, tailormade support system for families across the Northwest and North Wales with a variety of different services. Some of the services include:
- Bespoke one to one counselling sessions for the patient and family.
- Educational support programmes are designed to offer families the opportunity for the child to learn without missing out on opportunities which can impact emotional wellbeing.
- Personal fitness and nutrition advice. This is a vital part of a child’s recovery when affected by Cancer.
- Therapy through Art programmes allows families to express their emotions through their artwork and to help raise self-esteem and confidence.
This is just a snippet of what The Joshua Tree can provide to families living with cancer. So far, their incredible work has supported 280 families with 137 currently a part of their amazing services.
